Designed around a Fender Starcaster, this was Dog Tired's first bass. Denise had been playing a Gibson Ripper which was way too heavy and long, so she wanted something lighter and more balanced. She's also a classical strings teacher, so thought she'd like to have something fretless as well. We built this with a heavily-chambered mahogany body with a highly flamed maple cap, and we designed the chambering pattern to leave more meat at the tail end to help with balance and counteract any possible neck dive issues.
