Kelley's been the bass player for The Great Divide since their inception in 1995, and we've been friends for about 10 years or so. He was around when I started building guitars and even helped with some design work on the very first bass I built.
Earlier this year, he contacted me about building his dream fretless, and I was happy and honored to be able to do it for him. He plays a 5-string Stingray as his main workhorse, so he wanted something that would have the same feel and be as comfortable.
Here are the specs:
- 34" scale
- Sapele body with zebrawood top
- 5-piece maple/wenge neck
- Richlite fretboard
- Bone nut
- EMG BQS HZ System active preamp
