I was approached by the friend of current client and friend to build something meaningful for his son.
Samuel's grandparents built a house on their parents' land and specifically chose the location because of this massive pecan tree. Samuel's dad grew up in that house and played in and around that tree often as a kid. A few years ago, after soaking rains and high winds, the tree fell over. Rather than just having it cut up and removed, Samuel's dad opted to have some of it slabbed and dried in order to preserve the memories by using it for special projects.
Samuel has always been a musician and developed an interest in guitar, so his dad thought this would be the perfect opportunity to create something truly special that could be handed down for generations. Here are the specs:
- Catalpa body with spalted pecan top
- 6-piece flamed maple/walnut neck
- Walnut fretboard
- Kluson tuners
- Lace Sensor pickups
- Kill switch
- Bone nut
- CTS pots
- Bigsby B50
