Julie contacted me a little over a year ago with the idea of building her husband a special guitar out of some family barn wood. Since that's exactly the kind of thing that started this company, I was excited to tackle the project for her.
We met, and she filled me in on what kinds of guitars he already had and what styles he played, and we settled on some details. She handed over the barn wood, and I brought it back to the shop to wait for its spot to open up in my build schedule. I got started early this year by sorting through the wood and picking out the best pieces. It was only then that I noticed the coolest thing I've ever found in a piece of guitar wood — a bullet! I texted Julie a pic, and she had no idea it was in there. We both knew at that point that it HAD to be included and that this would be the coolest barncaster anywhere!
