Bud's wife wanted to surprise him with something special for Christmas. She contacted me after seeing Mike's Soonercaster and figured OSU needed to represent as well. She told me Bud was a big OSU fan as well as Corvettes, so I came up with a design that incorporated both of his favorite things.
Besides the OSU orange paint, I also inlaid the OSU logo into the fretboard with paduak, an exotic wood that has a naturally orange color. To bring in the Corvette details, the paint scheme was inspired by C1 Corvettes from the '50s. I also used authentic 1956 Corvette radio knobs for tone and volume and an authentic 1956 Corvette door lock knob for the pickup selector switch.
