Matthew has been a Dog Tired fan for quite a few years and is the friend of another good friend (and client). He was the volunteer worship leader at his church for several years, and when time came for him to step down, the church wanted to gift him a custom Dog Tired guitar as a thank you for serving so selflessly.
We met for lunch and discussed what he'd like in a guitar, and we settled on a JM body style with P90s and a Bigsby. He was partial to gold, and after consulting with my painter, we decided on this Mercedes paint code called Kalahari Gold.
On top of his worship leader duties, he also did graphic design work for the church. The fretboard inlays are hexagons, which are a key design element in his church logo.
