Steve was a former touring pro guitarist and is the current worship leader at our church. After seeing what I was able to do with concrete and old barns, he decided he wanted me to build him a guitar as well. He had a Jazzmaster neck already and wanted a guitar to go with it. The pickups are something that my pickup designer/winder came up with. Since system noise is the bane of Steve's existence, he wanted pickups that would be quiet, but he also wanted something that would look right in a JM body. These are called F90s. The guts are constructed like old-school Firebird pickups, but in a P90 shell. The result is a great, clear sound without noise.
Here are the specs:
- Poplar body
- Hand-wound F90 pickups
- Switchcraft switch and jack
- CTS pots
- Bigsby B50
- Warmoth custom tortoise pick guard
- Custom pearlized paint
